Technics 1210 mk2. The Best. Industry Standard. We would use
nothing less The legend itself, the SL-1210MK2, which is featured in the
Science Museum in London as one of the pieces of technology that have
shaped the World we live in. Overwhelmingly favoured by professional DJs
the SL-1210MK2's precision moulded die cast cabinet and rubber base help to
keep vibration at bay, ensuring the best possible sound quality.

The 600 is a fantastic mixer, but my
issue with it was simply that it didn't have a headphone mix on it.
pioneer sorted that one out.
From the ability to either split the two channels coming in to your
phones, or mix them together, to the way it's all layed out, the cueing
section on the 600 has to be one of the best I've ever used. The effects have been slightly improved in my opinion on the 500, but
I
can't think why.
just hit the big yellow button with the flanger set to
4/1 and you'll think you're oakenfold for those four bars.
the eq's are as tight as ever, really nicely laid out on the mixer so
there's no chance of hitting the line/phono switch.
The amount that they
take out in each frequency is perfect - and the sound you're left with
when killing the bass is not tinny and shrill
the sampler's a nice idea too. being able to record up to 8 seconds of the
tune (all done through the beat counter, so you don't have to
worry about
edits ) then loop it seamlessly - get the crowd a bit antsy - then fire
off to another tune - beautiful.

It cues to the music so it is ready to
play with no drag, and it was nice to mix with. With so many players
coming out now with anti-shock we decide to batter the worktop that this
player was on to see how easily it jogged without this feature - and I
hurt my hand well before the player decided to skip. Rugged, robust, well
laid out, nice and easy to use

Speaking of
speakers...Speaker protection is important, too, since the speakers are
ultimately responsible for most of the transference of sound signals to the
audience. But let's say, for example, that you blow a cone during sound check
and don't have a backup unit to use. With the
SP Series enclosures,
you're covered, because they come loaded with Black Widow® speakers which
feature field-replaceable cone/basket assemblies. Replacing the cone is only a
four-step process that involves swapping out the magnet structure from the back
of the blown unit to the fresh one and then you're back in business. Not
that you'll have to worry too much about losing one of the Black Widows. They're
incredibly tough and deliver great performance night after night. The cones are
impregnated with Kevlar® (you know, the stuff bulletproof vests are made from)
for stellar strength and reliability, as well as fantastic sound performance.
The Kevlar makes the cones stiffer than comparable paper cones which keeps the
cone from deforming the voice coil. It also results in robust power-handling
capabilities with less distortion than regular paper cones. The Black Widow
loudspeakers use extremely high-quality, state-of-the-art components like 4"
edge-wound aluminum ribbon voice coils wound on a Kapton™ former for
unbelievable efficiency and response.
Peavey also builds large
vents into their magnet structure for better cooling.

Building on the reputation of the
world-famous Peavey CS® 800, which conquered the power amp market in the 1990s,
the CS® Series is the global standard bearer for workhorse reliability. Over the
years, these amps have benefited from some of Peavey's most popular audio
innovations, including our exclusive DDT™ compression/anti-clipping protection.
With its 2 RU design and power points up to 4080 watts, this latest evolution of
the CS® Series is leaner, louder and lighter than ever.
